Version 12 has sophisticated numerical procedures for the
analysis of time transient nonlinear rotor dynamics as encountered in high-speed
gas turbines, turbochargers, and magnetic rotors. New generalized
nonlinear rolling element bearings with or without dead band effects may be
examined under startup or shutdown conditions. Improvements on nonlinear
squeeze-film dampers and nonlinear floating bush bearings have also been
included.
For magnetic bearing users, we have included nonlinear higher
order terms to show nonlinear radial or cross-coupling effects. You can
now specify a speed ramp up or down rate for your rotor, in addition to our
constant speed of operation conditions.
